The Rio Vista Beacon asked Ruben Quinterpfaras the owner of We Haul It All some questions about his business
1. How long have you been in this business.?
A: This is going to be our 4th successful year. Every year seems like we grow a little more, and we are being recognized by military, senior citizens, roofers, flooring, and construction personnel. Not to mention companies from the East Coast who do business through the phone.
2. What made you get into the Hauling Service?
A: I was depending on people to do some hauling for me when I would purchase storage units. The people I hired were not reliable, not professional, untimely, and did a very poor job in catering to my hauling needs. So I purchased a dumpster for myself, and not only did I save money, but I found out that there was a big need for these types of services in places like Trilogy and Travis AFB. I had neighbors ask me how much I would charge them to throw a stove, fridge, or couch away. Then I realized that this was something that I could get into. So I ran a few small ads on Facebook. I was sure to implement my 20 years of military training into the business. Be on time, be professional, be quick, and always go the extra mile when providing hauling services. Also be the lowest bidder, and give more than expected.
3. What form of the military were you in?
A: I was in the Air Force from 1991-2011. Got to the rank of MSgt, before deciding it was time for me to do something else. I truly enjoyed the people, the assignments, the airplanes, and the constant growth that the military forces you to become. I am very grateful to have served this country, and all the places I visited, both nationally and internationally. I became a member of the biggest fraternity in the world. We veterans live by a certain creed that not everyone gets to experience.
4. Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in both Mexico and the United States. I became a citizen while in the United States Air Force. Being in the military helped me become a citizen in a more efficient manner. Former representative Victor Fazio made sure that my case was handled expeditiously, without any red tape.
5. Different things that you will haul away or services that you do
A: The name of our business is WE HAUL IT ALL. That is literally what we do. We Load and Dump: Household Trash, appliances, dirt, concrete, chemicals, E waste, green Waste, trees, minor demolition, hot tubs, deceased animals. We also drop off dumpsters 5-7 days so that people can load, and take their time sorting out the items they wish to dispose for a set price. We rent out the dumpsters on a daily basis, we do the job ourselves for those that don’t wish to load, and we do bobcat services, such as break down concrete, level yards, and dispose of dirt.
6.The craziest job you did.
A: There are two craziest job we ever handled. First there was a 20 acre marijuana field, in the Dixon area. We forecasted for 28 days and finished it in 12. Thousands and thousands of marijuana plants, took down nurseries, thousands of bags of marijuana, trash, and equipment.
Second: there was a farm in the Rio Vista area that hired us to deliver Goats and Alpacas to another farm in Eureka. Shows that we keep an open mind, we don’t turn away work, and we are always willing and able to tackle on anything that comes our way.
