Javier Lopez, a senior at Rio Vista High School is the Soroptimist of Rio Vista Student of the Month for April. He and his parents, along with two brothers and a sister live in Isleton. The History Department nominated Javier for this honor. Javier has also received the Honors Award for maintaining a 3.0 and above GPA and an ‘Academic All-League’ award for maintaining his GPA while participating in athletics.
Some of Javier’s favorite school subjects are science, math and history. He is the president of the table top club and also held the position as vice president in the past. He is also the vice president of the music club.
Javier has held many positions in sports including defensive lineman for football and was on the wrestling team and the swim team. He completed 25 hours of community service during his time in high school with activities such as church choir, 4-H Club and other volunteering opportunities. When not participating in school or community activities, Javier enjoys hunting and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Javier plans to attend San Joaquin Delta College in the fall with his major in radio/television.
