RioVision Artisit of the Month Susan Prince – Jewels By Prince

Susan Prince

At an early age Susan had a gleam in her eye! She observed her Mother’s bohemian lifestyle as a photographer and her grandmother’s eye for innovative style in her own successful dress shop that catered to sophisticated women. Susan herself found that the final details were the facets to her own personal style and independence. After growing up in California, moving to New York at 15 years of age and back to California as an adult, Susan took up retail jobs, fitness training and nutrition, faux finishing with good success, and photography which was exhibited in several local California venues. Finally, that gleam in her eye came back as a result of wanting her own original jewelry that would be comfortable, and with style all her own.

After retiring from the fitness world in 2014 and searching for a reinvention of her artful eye, Susan realized that she could offer pieces to others. After taking extensive courses in jewelry making, Susan’s first pieces were with silver and gold beads, and increasingly became encrusted with colorful semi-precious beads and stones. In 2015 Susa, along with her husband, set off to travel through Turkey, Greece, Spain, Italy and the great southwest of America in search of the rarest and most beautiful semi-precious beads and stones to achieve her designs for earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Her eye goes to the colorful, consistence, rarity and sparkle! With over two thousand designs and hundreds of thousands of beads, Susan now presents her gleaming jewels at exhibits, shows and other professional retail shops under her name “JEWELS by PRINCE” established in 2015. As a senior citizen Susan is just getting started! The custom orders are quickly becoming Susan’s signature work.
