At Tuesday’s City Council May 3rd, the idea was introduced to temporarily hire an outside firm to bolster code enforcement activities throughout the city. We understand that in many cases, people don’t know when they are violating the Rio Vista Municipal Code (RVMC) due to several years of diminished enforcement.
Warning tags are going to start popping up, identifying code violations. These warnings will reference the municipal code section, which you can find on the city’s web page at: https://library.qcode.us/lib/rio_vista_ca/pub/municipal_code. As a community, if we can work together to clean up our city, we may be able to ‘nip this in the bud’ as a concern.
You can be proactive by eliminating some of these problems on your own! Once we have ensured residents become informed by the warnings issued by code enforcement or our volunteers, police officers will begin issuing citations and towing vehicles where appropriate.
