Lunch at the Library: Fairfield Civic Center and Rio Vista Library

Today, June 7, begins the first day of Lunch at the Library at Rio Vista Library. Fairfield Civic Center Library will begin offering free meals starting on June 14. Lunch at the Library is part of a statewide collaboration between the California Library Association and the California Summer Meal Coalition to offer free meals for children and teens, up to 18 years old. There are no restrictions on family income.

Rio Vista Library is offering free meals, June 7 through July 30 (except July 5), Monday through Friday from 11:30-12:30 PM. Fairfield Civic Center Library is offering free meals, June 14 through July 30 (except July 5), Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Children and teens can pick up free meals at these two locations and eat the meals outside or at home. Rio Vista and Fairfield will have free giveaways to go with each meal. Giveaways will vary each week and include free books, craft-kits, or activities.

The Summer Food Service Program is a program of the United States Department of Agriculture. Lunch at the Library is a project of the California State Library, supported with funds from the State of California. Lunch at the Library was developed by the California Library Association and the California Summer Meal Coalition, with the support from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
