Delays Expected Alternate Routes Suggested
Sacramento County — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to perform partial closures on the Three Mile Slough Bridge (on State Route 160) for additional parts replacement. The bridge remains safe for travel.
Crews will close the median and perform one-way traffic control from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.
A contractor is scheduled for continued bridge work to replace the sheave bearings and to machine the trunnion in both towers.
Caltrans urges motorists to plan accordingly and to expect delays.
Current truck restrictions are enforced. California legal trucks having a kingpin-to-rear-axle of more than 30 feet are not recommended on SR-160.
Suggested Alternate Routes:
• For detours involving Sacramento County origins/destinations, motorists may consider using Interstate 5.
• For other detours, motorists may consider using State Routes 12, 4, and 160 along with segments of Interstates 80 and 680.
Caltrans advices motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” – someone’s loved one is at work.
