State Route 84-Real McCoy Ferry Long-Term Delta Ferry Closure Extended to End of April 2022

Due to Additional Repairs and Required Maintenance

Use J-Mack Ferry or Miner’s Slough Bridge As Detour

(SOLANO COUNTY) Caltrans has extended the long-term closure of the State Route 84 (SR-84) Real McCoy Ferry II tentatively until the end of Aprl 2022 due to further inspections by the U.S. Coast Guard requiring additional repairs before Caltrans can return the boat to service.

The Real McCoy was originally taken out of service on February 7, 2022 and estimated to be returned to service in late March 2022.

Work was scheduled for required engine upgrades needed for the boat to meet updated air emissions requirements. Work will now include additional repairs to the boat’s hull.  

Caltrans will make an additional announcement once a specific return date is determined.

The Delta’s companion ferry, the SR-220 J-Mack Ferry can be used for crossings, while the Real McCoy II Ferry is out of service. The J-Mack Ferry is on demand 24 hours per day.The State Route 84 Miners Slough Bridge can also be used to access Ryer island.
