The Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 2022 Spirit of Solano Award to recipient, Rio Vista Farms, a Kolaboration Ventures Corporation (KVC) company. Rio Vista Farms is owned by KVC. Martin Wesley, CEO of Kolaboration Ventures Corporation, his brother Andrew Wesley & Father, Chuck Wesley have been driving the business since its founding.
In 2017, while contemplating business opportunities in Rio Vista such as cattle & farming they decided to take a leap to open one of the 1st cannabis companies in the Rio Vista Business Park. This included building a 16,000 SF building that houses their cannabis growing operation & a resale location.
Prior to entering the cannabis market, Wesley spent 20+ years working in the digital marketing and SaaS (Software as a Service) industry in leadership roles in in London, US, and Asia Pacific building teams that would help Advertisers and Brands and their agencies better leverage they digital data for advanced return on ad spend analysis and attribution data modeling. Additionally, the Wesley’s worked with many Silicon Valley Startup businesses that brought new technology & social media platforms to market. The Wesley’s applied their business knowledge of building Silicon Valley Startups to building the new cannabis business. In the beginning while waiting for building approval and prior to closing on the land located in the City of Rio Vista’s Business Park, they purchased their 16,000 SF Metal Building that houses Rio Vista Farms and invested money with PG&E to upgrade the power grid for the area. This risky move paid off when they were able to get up and operating quickly in 2018 after the permits were granted by the city. While building they used local Rio Vista companies, Architect Firm MJB Designs International, Gomes Excavating, Steve Smith Electric and D&S Press to name a few local companies that have been a part of the building process in Rio Vista and other locations as they have grown beyond Rio Vista. Since their 2017 start as Rio Vista Farms they have grown to include CoCo Farms-Antioch, V-Town-Vallejo, CoCo Farms-Concord, PR Farms, Del Rey Farms, Valley Farms, Highway 33. Plus, they sell over 18 product lines. Today KVC is a ~70M vertical cannabis operation from seed to sale and serves over 3,000 customers per day across its California retail footprint. KVC’s BDSA Brand House has risen sharply during this period of industry turbulence from #22 in the State of California to #12 in the State in August. Today KVC employs 350+/- full-time employees of which 30 are from Rio Vista.
Rio Vista Farms gives back 1% of their gross to the City of Rio Vista & Various Charities. Locally in Rio Vista they are known for their contributions to the Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce’s Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival, Rio Vision’s Hog August Bites Event, Hundreds of Thanksgiving turkey dinners at the Rio Vista Moose Lodge, Soroptimist International of Rio Vista’s Women’s Projects, and many other charity groups. In Solano County they have been assisted in giving over a 1000 Toys for underprivileged kids in the Vallejo area & sponsors of concert events on Mare Island. Annually the company gives back approx. $200,000 to Rio Vista, $130,000 to Vallejo, $150,000 to Antioch and $300,000 to Concord.
