Two new members were inducted into Soroptimist International of Rio Vista this month. Both women have extensive backgrounds in business and will be a major asset to the local group. Stacy Lompa was a Soroptimist member in Martinez where she served in several positions and attended conventions in Canada and Hawaii. She also started their local S-Club at Alhambra High School in Martinez. She attended the San Francisco Cooking School for Culinary Arts and Cake Decorating. She plans to open a B&B in early 2023 in the former “Cook Mansion” at 5th and Main St. and has long range plans to open a restaurant and bakery on 2nd St. in the old Rio Vista Hotel.

KC Nash is a retired freelance writer and marketing consultant who moved to Rio Vista in 2018. She has extensive background as a columnist and contributor of articles to multiple newspapers. KC lived for several years in Antigua and Barbados in the Caribbean, where she wrote and published a guidebook, and worked as an editor and reporter for Antiqua’s daily newspaper and organized a literary festival for the island nation.
