RioVision Donates Hog August Bites Proceeds

On November 14th RioVision kicked off the monthly Community Forum by presenting donations made possible by the net proceeds from the annual Hog August Bites event.

Hog August Bites Event Director, Robie Williams presented checks to Heather Gardner, President of the Rio Vista Sharks towards a much needed timer for the swim team; Chandra Drury, President of the Rio Vista High School Booster Club for to be used for the 3rd van for the high school; Michelle Burns, a representative of Soroptimist Internal of Rio Vista’s Education Committee for their “S” Club and finally to the City of Rio Vista, Mayor Ron Kott and Public Works Director Robin Borre for the bleachers and a table at Egbert Field.

After the presentation of donations, the Community Forum turned to Highways 160 and 12 to discuss the possibility of a creating a new forum to tackle the problems of the highways by working with governmental agencies and legislatures. There were representatives from Caltrans District 3, State Assembly member Laurie Wilson’s administration and residents from up and down river as well as Rio Vista.
