In these unprecedented times of shelter-in-place and restricted gatherings, RioVision has been committed to inviting community leaders to share information regarding Rio Vista’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic to our virtual Town Hall meetings via ZOOM. Recordings of these informative presentations are also available on our Facebook page: facebook.com/riovistavision.
Following River Delta Unified School District Superintendent Kathy Wright in May and Fire Chief Jeff Armstrong in June, Rio Vista Police Chief Lt. Jackson Harris will join the RioVision Town Hall this coming Monday, July 27th, at 7pm via ZOOM. Contact info@riovistavision.com for the ZOOM link and password, and/or to submit a question for Chief Harris.
Content will include information about department structure and activity, as well as COVID-19. A recording will be available on Facebook after the meeting.
RioVision Gallery is pleased to remain open to support our local artists and provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy their work in a peaceful, well-lit setting. Open from 11am-3pm Tuesday-Saturday, masks are required inside. In July, we celebrate multi-medium artist Kathie Boissiere. A Rio Vista resident for 2 years, Kathie immediately became active in the local art community. Her hope is that her work, which is inspired by “color, line, shape, and movement”, “leaves room for the viewer to find his own story there.” Come by during the month of July to appreciate Kathie’s work and her fellow artists at the Gallery on Main St. Sales benefit the artist.
Don’t’ forget to visit our Discover Rio Vista Facebook page for items of community interest: https://www.facebook.com/discoverriovista/ DRV Magazine editors and contributors (writers, photographers, and reviewers) are actively preparing for the Sept-Dec 2020 issue which will include articles on Rio Vista’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic among other articles on local people, places, and events.
Get out of the house this month to walk our waterfront Promenade; enjoy the bridge view, river breeze, the fascinating wind sculptures, and a leisurely “sit” under the city’s new shade cover, now installed over a patio area.
Finally, RioVision is working with the City, Rio Vista Little League, the adult softball league and others to renovate Egbert Field while it is not in use. Additionally, another phase of shade covers and benches will be installed at Promenade Park.
Keep an eye on the weekly “What’s Happening in Rio Vista” and Library calendars for new events and updates. Please stay safe, practice social distancing and wear a mask per county and state requirements. Wishing you well.
