The Board of Directors of the Rio Vista Foundation (RVF) bid a fond farewell to their President, Verla Chaddick, at the residence of Donna Nunes.

Chaddick has been very close to RVF since its inception in 1968, but now, she is getting ready to move to Oregon.  When it was founded, RVF was of considerable assistance to her husband, Ron Chaddick, a teacher who became the Principal of Rio Vista High School.  Mr. Chaddick required frequent dialysis treatments, and RVF raised the funding to install medical equipment in their home, saving him countless trips out of town to receive these treatments.

Mrs. Chaddick has served on the Board for many years, most recently as its President.  Donna Nunes has agreed to step in and complete Chaddick’s term of office.

As a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) private charitable foundation, RVF provides financial services for several local organizations.  It has participated in programs to provide a van for RVHS students at off campus events, four hydrations stations at RVHS, as well as SmartBoard and Chromebook computers for the D H White and Riverview schools.  It has also provided a new million-dollar community swimming pool, holding fundraisers such as the Ducky Derby, Picnic/Auction in Bruning Park, and Coin Bank Programs.  Building the pool also required funding from local residents and substantial in-kind donations from local contractors.
