The Rio Vista Lions Club hosted the Rio Vista Fire Chief, Jeff Armstrong. He was present to give a current update on the Coronavirus 19 situation in our City. Chief Armstrong is a member of the Lions Club.
He presented a recap as to how quickly he and the City Manager responded to preliminary information about the virus in early March. The City was one of the first municipalities to order protective equipment. Due to this fast action, the City had the protective equipment on hand as the virus spread. The Chief and the City, early-on, published a report on how to safely respond to those showing signs of the illness. They have also put together manuals on what to do to safely open various businesses when the opportunity arose. Each business presents different situations; therefore, manuals had to be produced for each type of business.
The City has less than 10 cases of the virus, meaning CONGRATULATIONS to the Chief and City staff for getting the jump on the problem from the start.
