Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce is off and Rolling for the Summer Shopping Season!

By Stacia Olson, Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce President

Now that COVID restrictions are being lifted the Rio Vista Chamber is back in full swing for Summer & Fall activities to promote local businesses.

This summer RVCC is bringing back Sidewalk Saturday, 10am-2pm on July 17th, Aug 21st, and Sept 18th.   July’s theme is “Trash & Treasurers” featuring the closure of 2nd Street in front of the Visitor Center/Chamber of Commerce on Second St. The Chamber is inviting anyone that would like to rent a booth space and bring their “Trash & Treasurers” to sell. Acceptable booth items can be artwork, crafts, recycled items (garage sale) and our regular sidewalk vendors will be placed along Main Street at various locations. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.  To pre-register & for fees, call/visit Pets 4 All (167 Main St. – 707-374- 2011).

The RVCC is busy planning for the 73rd Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival, Oct 8th-10th! Walt Stanish is back as our Chairman of the Festival for his 6th year. We are expecting a higher than usual crowd this year with the lifting of COVID restrictions. If you wish to be a vendor, we highly suggest registering early to assure you will have a space. Any vendor (nonprofits or youth groups) wishing to serve food or beverage items (water bottles) must register early as Health Inspections will apply, additionally these type booths have an early booth registration cutoff of AUG 1st. Vendor application can be found on BassFestvial.com or call Vendor Chair – Barbara Lee (707) 374-6354. T-shirt Sponsors are due July 1st!

The Rio Vista Visitors’ Center will be open Tuesday -Saturday from 10am – 1pm. We are seeking volunteers for the afternoon shifts so we can stay open later. To be a volunteer, contact the RVCC at 707-374-2700.

As our business reopen their doors remember how important it is to keep our downtown and local businesses thriving! Support our local businesses!
