Rio Vista CARE has been here since 1985 to provide counseling and assistance to any resident, child or adult, or family, who needs help! Our doors are open to you!
If you are a parent of a child who is 5 years or younger and find yourself wondering why your child is misbehaving, call CARE at 374-5243. CARE offers the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program. Triple P includes learning assertive discipline, realistic expectations, and taking care of yourself as a parent. Triple P teaches how to talk with your children to encourage desirable behavior and how to manage misbehaving in a more positive and productive way.
CARE’s Family Resource Center helps low-income families with children 0-18 when they run into problems making ends meet. If you, or someone you know, is having difficulty paying the utility bills or paying rent, come talk with us so we can assist you. We can help with some concrete assistance or offer resources. We also offer budget management assistance to help prevent future problems.
CARE has four therapists and a substance abuse counselor on board to help too. Much of the counseling is offered to youth at the local schools, but CARE provides counseling for adults too. If you are experiencing grief or loss, relationship difficulties, or other mental health or emotional distress, CARE is here for you! CARE has a sliding fee scale that adjusts to your level of income.
Remember, CARE is Rio Vista’s very own Mental Health and Social Services resource! We wish to encourage and support our community. Come see us if you have a question or have a need that you want some help with.
