Real estate agent Ralene Nelson knows all about hometown charm. Having just moved into her new office, she had a vision that she wanted to create for her front window. She turned her vision into reality and now has a village that is a mini City of Rio Vista.
Ralene has been in the real estate business for 17 years. She previously worked for Bank of America for 38 years, spending most of that time in management positions.
She grew up in Oroville, CA, and in 1965, while still in high school, she became the first California Bank of America student work experience employee.
While working in the banking industry, she climbed the ladder very quickly. She held many positions, including project managing system conversions in Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Hawaii. She was the first woman manager at the Danville branch.
In 2000, she and her husband moved to Trilogy and she commuted for four years before retiring in 2004. In 2005, she received her real estate license and worked for Rio Vista Real Estate. She then went on to work at Richards Real Estate, where owner Sam Richards taught her the business.
In December 2010, she started working for Century 21MM where she worked until August 2021, when she was recruited by RE/MAX GRUPE GOLD. One of the stipulations was to establish an office in Rio Vista. In August, she added local agent and resident, Jesse Beatty, to her team.
Ralene is also active in the community. She has been a major sponsor for many years for the American Legion Golf Tournament, honoring fallen veteran Adam Kinser.
She is a Rio Vista Chamber member and helped sponsor a chamber event last year.
She also served on the Village 1 board in Trilogy. Currently, she and Jesse are Rio Vista Little League sponsors.
When you have a chance, walk by 107 Main St. (next to F&M Bank) to look at the charming display. Who knows you might just see your favorite business in the window!
