On the 2nd Saturday of each month, Trilogy Community Theater Group (“TTG”) continues to offer an on-line video recording of one of their previously staged productions. The play can be viewed at any time on-demand that day by typing “trilogytheatergroup.com/vlog” into your browser to get to the link.
This month, on Saturday January 9th, TTG is pleased to bring you our 2016 Spring production of Rick Abbot’s farce-like comedy “Play On!”, by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.. At a time when we can all use a good laugh, this ‘play within a play’ is full of them. This “ hilarious love letter to community theater” tells the story of a theater group trying desperately to put on a play despite maddening interference from it haughty playwright who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show; Act II is the near calamitous dress rehearsal. In Act III, all sorts of ridiculous mishaps come to fruition at every turn when the company ‘performs’ the actual show.
The production is directed by TTG’s founder, Louise Mitchell, with a large cast drawn from Trilogy talent. The video, by experienced videographer Larry Mitchell, runs about 2 hours, including epilog slides and credits. There is no charge to watch, but donations are gratefully accepted to cover our costs to bring these videos to you. To visit our website and learn more about us, go to trilogytheatergroup.com. We look forward to the time when we can offer live theater once again!Submitted by Mary Kay Rosteck and Carol Bower Foote
