No traffic delays are expected on State Route 12
RIO VISTA – Caltrans is alerting recreational boaters and commercial shipping that the Rio Vista Bridge on State Route 12 is scheduled for full closure next week for ongoing part replacement work. The bridge will remain in the down position.
The bridge remains safe for travel. A Caltrans contractor and structural engineers are continuing with replacing electrical and mechanical parts considered out of date and due for replacement.
The bridge will remain open to motorists and delays are not expected.
SCHEDULE FOR MARINE TRAFFIC CLOSURE:
From 6 a.m. November 22, 2021 through
6 p.m. November 24, 2021
In accordance with the 2018 Coast Guard Authorization Act (P.L. 115-288), Section 832 d.1.B, Caltrans, must notify the public by publishing notice of the temporary change to drawbridge operating schedule in a newspaper of general circulation in the place where the bridge is located.
A Public Notice is scheduled to appear in the Sacramento Bee newspaper on Friday, November 19. The U.S. Coast Guard will announce the temporary deviation in the Local Notice to Mariners and/or Broadcast Notice to Mariners.
Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials, and other construction related issues.
